This week we put on a mini MTC with the ward and it went well. It was one of those things where you put in all of this effort and planning and things are looking really good until the day of–when things kind of fall apart a little… and all of the young women who had planned on coming cancel. Well, not all of them because we still had a few youth there and it ended up being a really good experience for them! I love having the opportunity to help others find their own testimony and hopefully inspire them to go on a mission because it is the best experience ever!

Our investigator, Winnie, got baptized just yesterday and luckily everything went well!

Her story is actually an interesting one as she has been investigating for about 6 months now, which really isn’t that long of a time for here in Hong Kong. She found the church herself and contacted the office which then referred her to the missionaries here in Hung Shui Kiu and they started teaching her. She took everything well and wanted to be baptized, but picked her own date and set it out for about 5 months later because she felt that that day had special significance to her. And guess what, she stuck it through and actually got baptized after preparing for so long and she is so solid! It really has been humbling for me to see just how little missionaries are involved in the whole process of teaching and baptism. Now don’t get me wrong, missionaries have an important role to play and I am grateful to be one, and for all of the other missionaries around the world. It really is a sacred calling that we are chosen to fulfill. But most of the people that I have seen get baptized are the ones who find the church themselves and then make the decision that they want to get baptized–and then they actually do. It’s still hard because as missionaries we work all day and pray and teach and pour our hearts out for these people who a lot of the times don’t really want to hear what we have to say. But it is also a testament to me that there are people out there who are ready to hear the gospel and the lord ALWAYS makes sure that they find a way to us and then we as missionaries get to play just a tiny part in their conversion as we walk down the path with them. There are few other experiences like that of getting to play a part in the eternal salvation of a precious soul of our Heavenly Father.

Love you all!! Remember to find ways to serve others every day!!
